Skin
Help your patients take care of their skin.
The skin is the largest organ of the body and
is the first line of defense that protects the body from dryness, infection and
other damage. Healthy skin indicates a healthy body.
The
skin is the most vital organ of the body and regardless of age and health
situation, it needs care every day.
What is the function of the skin?
Protection - Skin protects your body and internal organs from
damage and is a barrier against germs and infection.
Temperature Regulation
- The skin regulates your body temperature and keeps
water inside your body. It also cools your body through sweating if needed.
Sensation - The skin allows you to feel
heat, cold, pain, and touch.
Secretion – Sweat glands in your skin produce oil to lubricate
your skin and help keep it healthy.
A Healthy skin is:
• Smooth and without breaks in the surface.
• Warm, but not hot.
• A reflection of a healthy body.
Healthy skin is not like this:
