Incontinence associated Dermatitis
burning moisture damage: feces/urine
(better known as diaper rash). Skin inflammation that occurs when urine or
feces come into contact with the perineum/perigenital area, inner thighs,
buttocks, or adjacent skin folds. Features include inflammation and erythema
with or without erosion or loss of the superficial layer of the skin.
Interventions:
1. Investigating and treating the
cause of incontinence.
2. Use a device to restrain urine
or feces. Consider using a male external catheter for men.
3. If necessary, suggest going to
the toilet at least every 2 hours.
4. Clean the skin when it is dirty
with a gentle cleanser without washing (Zitan Foam).
5. Apply moisturizing ointment on
the affected area.
6. Use topical antifungal
treatment if needed.
7. Consider using a pad, absorbent shorts, or diapers.
